May Nutshell

by Sue

The only people who managed to perservere through the traffic and parking nightmares were NancyD. and Sue.  There was an event at the park.  It was Autism Speaks.  Though a very worthy cause, it played havoc with our meeting.  In the future, if you want to see what event we  might be sharing the park with, you can always look at their website: http://www.historysanjose.org/calendar/index.html.  Marcia, as our museum liason, will be monitoring this calendar.  If she spots and event on "our" day that looks like it will be big, she'll call the museum and ask and then send email to the guild.  The museum no long has the staff to call us.

Sue will not be at the June meeting.  Carry on without me.

Besides the Lendrum wheel and carry bag I have: "The Card and Feeding of Spinning Wheels," by Karen
Pauli, "The Ashford Book of Spinning" 1995 edition by Anne Field, "Handbook of Timesaving Tables for Weavers,
Spinners and Dyers," by Bettie G. Roth and Chris Schutz, an umbrella swift, a niddy noddy, a drop spindle, Ashford
Handcards and some fibre for spinning. The wheel was $500 new in 1997 and used maybe 10 times. I would take
$400 for the whole kit and kaboodle, or best offer.
If interested, contact Marj Scooros mscooros@earthlink.net (408) 254-8912
And that's June in a Nutshell.

If you have news or pictures of interest to the group please send it to spinner@serendipityspinners.org
